Lost a stickie!
Mon Dec 12, 2022 4:12 am
I am partially to blame for this one as my mouse is not functioning correctly now and sometimes
double-clicks quickly when I do a single click!
I was clicking on a stickie and all of a sudden it shot up to the top of the screen, got really tall,
and the top was off-screen (could access it).
I somehow managed to bring it back into view and then Alt-r rolled it up.
Next thing I know it disappears totally from my screen!
How can I retrieve it?

When I go into Manage Notes and look at the stickie properties there,
I see Position: 1393 -17569
So that -17569 is WAY out of whack.
I don't see a way to edit that.
Any guidance?

There is a " rescue offscreen " option in the traymenu .

Thanks I will remember that for next time.guest_today wrote:There is a " rescue offscreen " option in the traymenu .
For some strange reason today when I opened the stack,
the stickie reappeared a little off to the side!
Its position was now: 1393 655
I didn't touch anything. It changed spontaneously!

You can move a desktop note by finding it in the Manage dialog and dragging it from the list to the place you want the note on the desktop. You can manually resize a note by clicking it and pressing control-shift-x.
Those two hints ought to bring any unruly note back under control.
