Stickies and two subnets
Wed May 27, 2020 12:02 pm
Hello,
in my company we finished the ip addresses. So we added a new subnet.
Before the configuration was: IP 192.168.10.xxx, Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Now we have pc with IP:192.168.10.xxx and 192.168.11.yyy and the Subnet mask is 255.255.254.0
Stickies seems don't work between different subnets. There is a solution or Stickies aren't compatible with this network configuration?
Thanks
Andrea

Stickies will work with any network which can let it establish a direct IP connection from source to destination. This includes half way around the world if you like - although there are usually considerations about firewalls at that point.
In fact, it's mostly firewalls which prevent Stickies from communicating, so I'd suggest you look at that next. Yes, Stickies will work with that subnet mask and network setup.
Your first troubleshooting step is to open a Command Prompt and type "ping 192.168.11.yyy" (obviously not literally 'yyy'!). If that doesn't work, then you have a networking issue (or perhaps a firewall one). If it does work, then it's even more likely to be the firewall.
Try (temporarily) dropping the firewall on either the receiving machine or both machines, to see if it solves the issue. If so, then you know it's a firewall rules problem.

- Make Stickies Such that Using Stickies Portable (PortableApps) is Able to Remember Location of a Skin Files Even if the Stickies Folder is Moved
- Stickies: Changing the text in a note does not update in the manage notes list until stickies is restarted
- update to 10.1a, no stickies
- Where is the setting which tells Stickies where to store stickies.db?
- stickies - auto adjust snapped stickies?
