Upgrade Stickies from version 7 to 10

I have been using Stickies v7.1e on my work pc since 2013, currently with 70 active stickies, some sleeping and an awful lot closed some still used as reference.
Now I have gotten a new pc and want to use the latest and greatest version v10.0d and copy my stickies.

• The program includes the data converter mdb2db.exe, but does not work for v7 stickies.ini files: "Conversion aborted - Upgrade from v8 or v9 only    FAILED".
• Using the transfer file function will import the sticky parameters (title, date, position, colour, rollup) but has no contents (the <RTF> part).
• The Manage notes > File > Export stored function to save/load as *.CSV seems absent in v10.
• I also tried sending the stickies over the network one by one. However that will not work for closed, recurring, sleeping or attached stickies, and they will lose their position, transparency and creation dates, and include an IP address as source which I can't remove.

The only solution I can think off is to install v8 as intermediate version to update to v10 in 2 steps.
Might this work, and where can I download v8 safely?

What other ways to restore my stickies are there?

There can be some missing microsoft visual c++ libraries that will give error " Ordinal 12404 not found " trying to convert if you are on win10.

All my stickies are back in perfect shape.
Some trouble with the db file not being empty, but this worked very well.

I checked what will happen if I remove the check for a v7 file from the converter.  The converter crashes.  Specifically, v8 has a field in the mdb file in the [categories] table called "icon", and the converter assumes that the field is present, and will crash if it's not.  That really does mean that there's no way of converting directly from v7.

Of course, it would be possible to write the converter so that it does recognise and handle the v7 format, but I took the decision that it's less work to ask the few people back on that version to jump to v8 and then up to v10, than it would be to do the work to convert the v7 format as well.  The number of people with a v7 format is presumably small, and only growing smaller now, and jumping through v8 is a really quick thing to do.
