Stickies time of automatic backup
Sun Apr 14, 2024 3:47 pm
I have backups set for every 24 hours. What determines the time of the backup. Mine are all at 11:36. Can the time be set?

As far as i remember it takes the filename of the lastbackup as reference , so if you change the 1136 to 1420 the new backup will be at 14:20 .

You can alter that, although it's not possible in the UI. Stickies backs up "every x hours" rather than "at this time".
If you'd like to adjust that, do this:
- Wait until just after the time you want Stickies to backup
- In Settings, alter the backup period to be "every 24 hours".
- Open the "backups" folder (in About, click the data "..." button, find "backups" in there")
- Close Stickies
- Rename the most recent backup file to be today's date, with the time you want, e.g. 202104021800 if you want 6pm, and were doing this today
- Run Stickies again.
The app will see that the most recent backup was "taken" at 1800 today and schedule the subsequent ones for 24 hours from that time.
