Changing data path
Thu Feb 06, 2020 5:49 pm
Hello and congrats for this software.
I am trying to change the data path following the instructions in help file.
I created the new key in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Zhorn\stickies\Path
This is exactly the key and then inside path I put the address of my local onedrive folder on my pc.
I would like to use the same data on all my PCs to sync automatically the notes.
Is this a good way to do this? Because it is not working , every time I start my PC, the path in Stickies is always the default one in appdata....
I thank in advance if someone can help me.
My best regards.

Hi dinamite,
path must NOT to be a subKEY of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Zhorn\stickies but a text VALUE in the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Zhorn\stickies

The registry value should be "Path" (and not "database"), and its content should be the name of the directory containing the db file, not the db file itself.

Thank you.
I did some experiments to see why it was not working and that was was just the last try.
I will do it later.
I think the problem was "path* then. Because I thought it was just a placeholder.

Sorry for late reply.
It was indeed the name "path" the problem.
Thank you @LaurentG for the help and for pointing out.
Sometimes the most obvious solution is the easiest!
