stickies and quickly re-sleep reoccuring note?
Wed Jul 07, 2021 1:18 pm
hi Tom,
just trying out repeated reminders for stickies and it seems to be a bit of a handful :/
....i might be adding too much ...like reoccuring reminder time and sleep time maybe?
just want note to repeat remind me say every 30 mins ..... but it seems to trigger 3 note reminders .....and cant see easy way to force it to go away until next reminder time :/
many thanks
dan

You can see notes which will wake today in the calendar tab of Manage, although that's not as likely to be useful if it's every 30 minutes. Turning up the debug level might help you to see why a note has woken up - and you will get a new one every 30m unless you check "Prevent duplicate recurring notes"?

thanks Tom ...shall have a log at the debug ....pretty sure i have ticked the dont duplicate though
....why does it open a new instance of the note...rather than just showing the single note? ...seems odd to me :/
thanks

There are a few "alerting" concepts in Stickies.
One is "alarm". That's relevant to a note which is open on the desktop and remains visible. When the specified time arrives, it will jiggle/flash/sound to remind you.
One us sleeping. It causes a note to disappear from the screen until the specified time, at which point it will reappear.
(You can apply both sleeping and an alarm to a note, meaning that it will be gone from the screen for a while, and also sound an alarm at a time - if it's asleep when the alarm sounds, it will wake up)
The last one is recurring notes - this will create a new note at the schedule specified. Think of it as a new note being created from a template. These can't have an alarm set, as you can only set an alarm on a real note, not on a template of a note.
Hope this helps.
