Unable to select text from xl cell pasted into a stickie (behaves like an image)

When I paste a selection from an xl sheet into a stickie it seems to become an image in the stickie, and not possible to select text or numbers from the stickie for further use.

Is there a way to be able paste a few cells from a table into a stickie, and then be able to copy to use the text/numbers from that stickie elsewhere?

Try pasting with Ctrl + Shift + V.  It should paste as plain text that you can then copy and manipulate from the stickie as you wish.

You can also put a single space into a note and then paste to get the table - so long as the note isn't completely empty when you paste you won't get the image.
