DNS consulta
Thu Jan 27, 2022 4:55 pm
Hola,

Hello
When a contact is added by DNS instead of the IP, when sending a message to another person, instead of displaying the person's name it displays the FQDN. Example: instead of appearing Juan Perez shows hostname.empresa.com
Is there a possibility to correct this and always show the name Juan Perez?

If your friend list mixes IPs and hostnames, that's going to be difficult to make neat.
If it just uses IP addresses, leave the "Use DNS" option unchecked, and then the IP address will be looked up in the Friends list.
If your Friends list uses hostnames, then check the "Use DNS" box in Settings. That way incoming notes will have their source changed from IP to hostname before being compared with what's set in your Friends.
