Cancelling a new stickie

This is a low priority request.

For a new stickie, the "Set title" dialog has a Cancel button - IAW best practice.

However, IMO, the normal effect of a Cancel button is to simply close the dialog, and pretend the whole thing never happened.

But the actual effect of Cancel is to present an empty note, which then has to be (1) deleted with the "X". That presents "Are you sure...", with the (2) Yes/No buttons.

The "deleted" note is then placed in the Bin. That increases the workload during (3) the curation of each note before (4) removing from the Bin.

So, the effect of "Cancel" is to force four extra user actions.

As I said earlier, low priority.

What if the user wants to cancel the setting of a title, but not cancel the creation of a new note?

Might I suggest that if you do decide you don't want a new note, you cancel the "Set Title" dialog, and then hold shift as you click the "Close" button.  That will nuke the note - it will bypass the Closed category, and be completely removed from the app.
