what is "manual override" in Caffeine status and how can I see where it's coming from?

Old laptop was working as expected - I'd launch Caffeine via windows scheduled task and it would stay active the configured amount of time.
New laptop (which has obviously different software although theoretically the "same" version of windows...) now behaves differently, I will see "Inactive: [Manual Override]" or something along those lines in the status bar icon popup. I'm definitely not manually overriding it intentionally, and I'm trying to figure out if it's just behaving weirdly on its own -- which seems unlikely? -- or if there's some other software somewhere in the machine that is manually setting it to inactive. Are there mechanisms I can use to debug this further?

Manual overwrite is when you double click the trayicon , it toggles from active to not active . Why it happens if you do not accidentely click it yourself i have no clue ....

You could try showing the dialog - and keeping an eye on when it changes from active to inactive. It is possible that something on your system is sending messages to Caffeine to tell it to change, but despite being technically possible it's not all that likely.
Do you know when it changes? Is there a pattern to it?
