Problems on Windows 11

Hi, i install Stickies V10 on Windows 11, allow Network, allow Firewall, but i can't send Stickies. What did i wrong?

If you have admin rights or admin password you can run resmon.exe and look if stickies have a listening port allowed.
At least it means stickies is network enabled and have an open firewall port so sending should also be allowed .

You can try sending a sticky to 127.0.0.1 , it should popup on the screen . Are you sure the PC you are sending to has stickies running and no firewall problems ?



You can open a windows PowerShell window on the sending PC and type the command  ( example with my lan destination adress ):

tnc 192.168.1.4 -port 52673

It will check if it finds the port open ( default port for stickies is 52673 ).

thank you to your answer, here are my test answer

1. test to 127.0.0.1 works, i got the test sending
2. resmond looks on win11 differten, i cant see the firewall 
3. powershell: tcptestsucceeded = true on port 52673

but i still can't send to a other user in the same network: error message could not transmit to .....

firewall app setup: allowed for stickies

maybe i have to change something at 

defender firewall with enhanced security?

Its under " network " .

I would suggest to disable the firewall for a moment and test again to see if you can send a sticky to see if it is the firewall.

You can also enable debug logging in stickies , you find it in the traymenu  " Settings > ...Other " maybe it gives some info on what is happening with the send command .

This seems to be a normal error when stickies works ok but the other PC does not react or the IP adress is wrong.
Can you receive a sticky from the other PC ?

It is strange that the powershell command gives ok for tcp connection . Do you have access to the other PC to run the powershell from there ?

I do not have win11 ( i restored back to win10 after a few days) but i do not think i had stickies problems otherwise i would remember it!

Do you know what happened here because the different IP 192.168.0.3 .
