Questions related to "Show / Hide All"
Mon Aug 02, 2021 1:28 pm
Does anyone know why Show/Hide All unhides all the hidden notes in the following cases:
- When I click on the Stickies icon (to create a new note)
- When a single note reaches its scheduled Wake time
BTW: I don't use Stickies for "notes" - only for 1-sentence reminders.
Thanks

I took that decision to have either everything hidden, or everything showing, to try to avoid the app being confusing. Not everyone who uses Stickies is a computer expert, and I don't want people to become confused as to where their information is.
There are other ways which might achieve what you might want - sleeping, stacks and stored notes might help the app work in the way you want?

I want to try these, but because of my failing memory I usually have about 50 unexpired stickies. I don't want to lose any of these during testing. Is there any way to run a separate copy of Stickies for testing?
Ideally, both copies would run simultaneously and independently. The next best choice would be to close the real copy and open the test copy. (Which would need a reminder to open the real copy occasionally )
As a last resort, I could switch "stickies.db" in and out of the Roaming/stickies directory.
Thanks

You can put a copy on a usb . I would not run both versions together is very confusing . Exit one and start the other i think is the safest.....

Good suggestion. Thanks.
However, I think this thread has been overtaken by events. On a different thread, Tom suggested using "stacks".
It took only a few minutes - and the results are brilliant.
