New v10 Stickies install question

I just installed v10 on my work laptop. I've used v9 on my personal laptop for a long time.

In my v10 install new stickies aren't being created with the settings that I have set. I downloaded the Default v9 skin and set the appearance to that and my current stickies are using that style, but new stickies aren't. They have the correct title bar, but the sticky itself is just light grey.

Is there a setting in the Appearance tab that I might be missing/misunderstanding?

I have that set to my desired color (yellow), but still new sticky backgrounds are light grey.

Can you verify that the setting for style is default ?
If you create a new sticky can you change its color by using thet title bar rightclick menu to set its style to default ?

The default style was not reflecting the desired settings - the settings that I wanted were assigned to Style 1.

I changed the Default style to match Style 1 and now new stickies are created with the style that I want.
