static linked version of caffine
Thu Jun 04, 2020 6:30 pm
I really like the caffine tool and have used it to work around the IT enforced screenlocks.
However on my new laptop it is really locked down and when I try to run caffine it says it needs to install .NET (version 3.5?)
that installation would normally be a non-issue but I can't seem to do that.
In the old days of DLL's vs statically linked it was nice to have the option of a statically linked app that contained all it needed to run.
Could a similar self-contained version of caffine be created?

I was able to work around out IT nannyware and figured out how to install .NET, after doing that then caffeine is working.

Erm but my Caffeine app doesn't use .NET - it's written in C++, and although it uses MFC, that's already statically linked in (to avoid problems like this).
Strange, then. I can't explain why your machine would say that you need .NET libraries to run it?
