Bart - Import/Export feature
Thu Feb 27, 2020 3:39 pm
Good day to you, kind sir. Would it be too much to ask for an import and export feature added to Bart? My plan is to use it to copy (and keep in sync) a Windows profile between two PC's while I'm working on transitioning a user from an old PC to a new PC. Example:
\\oldPC\C$\Users\someUser\Documents c:\Users\someUser\Documents
\\oldPC\C$\Users\someUser\Desktop c:\Users\someUser\Desktop
\\oldPC\C$\Users\someUser\Favorites c:\Users\someUser\Favorites
This way, I can export the config to a text file, open it in Notepad, and do a mass search/replace for oldPC with someOtherOldPC and someUser with someOtherUser, then import it to use it on another PC/user.
It would be preferable that the export also contain the various configuration options for each of those source/destination paths as well.
\\oldPC\C$\Users\someUser\Documents c:\Users\someUser\Documents
\\oldPC\C$\Users\someUser\Desktop c:\Users\someUser\Desktop
\\oldPC\C$\Users\someUser\Favorites c:\Users\someUser\Favorites

But hold on a mo ... the .job files are already text based, so are you not able to modify those directly to make the changes you need?

I didn't even notice that. I think that'll work. Thanks, bubba! :-)
