Opening stickies from the command line Empty Opening stickies from the command line

on Thu Sep 27, 2018 10:03 am
According to the help file (9.0e), a stickie can be opened in a command line.

  • <filename>.sti: opens the .sti file specified, and sends the contents to the existing instance of Stickies

I got the pathname of one stickie from the Manage window but when I use it in a command line I get an empty stickie window.

The pathname is : "D:\Alt AppHome-Documents\Stickies (Zhorn)\rtf\12213613A1FE849.rtf". It's a RTF not a STI.

I execute the command:

"E:\Program Files\Stickies (Zhorn)\~\stickies.exe" "D:\Alt AppHome-Documents\Stickies (Zhorn)\rtf\12213613A1FE849.rtf"

My apologies if I've completely mis-undstood the feature.

That command is looking for a .sti file, not an RTF file.  A .sti file is almost an RTF file, but it also has some extra lines at the start, as RTF doesn't specify the background colour, so doesn't have quite enough information to represent a sticky.

If you save a note as a .sti file, and then try loading that, does that appear correctly?
